Exercise depletes blood glycogen levels reducing energy available for muscle synthesis and recovery. Physical activity utilizes energy in the form of glycogen at a rate faster than can be absorbed through food carbohydrate consumption. 2:1:1 Recovery, has combined the simple sugar, glucose, with sucrose and fructose to replenish energy stores. Blending three carbohydrate sources improves rate of absorption supplying the muscles with an immediate source of energy for protein synthesis. Without an immediate source of energy, the muscles will resort to a stored energy source, namely protein.
Physical exercise may cause soreness and pain in the muscles.
