Universal Nutrition Glutamine Capsules, Universal - 100 caps Glutamine is an amino acid that is naturally manufactured by your body and has an important part in maintaining the health of several bodily functions, of which includes muscle cells. To assist your body in processing additional Glutamine, Manganese Sulfate and Potassium Phosphate have already been included within each capsule.

During times of strenuous exercise or weight training your body becomes depleted of it‘s own natural supply of Glutamine. This allows for cortisol to destroy the proteins that your muscles need to grow. Taking Glutamine as a supplement will also aid in the recovery of “over-training syndrome”.

Glutamine aids in your immune function. Endurance or strenuous exercise lowers the body’s ability to fight off infection for an extended period of time. Research studies have evidence to support that Glutamine supplements help prevent the cold virus that runners often experience during intense training or after completing a marathon.

Glutamine is also used in many hospitals. It is given to patients to speed up the recovery process. In a study of two groups of intensive care patients, all of which were fed through feeding tubes. One group was given a placebo and the other group was given Glutamine. Only 42% of the patients in the placebo group lived, compared to the group taking Glutamine where 66% lived and left the hospital sooner than the placebo group.
